Dermal Fillers

Juvederm XC is an injectable cosmetic filler formulated to fill in lines and wrinkles in the skin, especially in the face. This injectable treatment is formulated with hyaluronic acid (HA), which occurs naturally in the body to fill in the spaces between collagen and elastin in the skin. The purpose of HA is to add volume and smooth the skin, while keeping the skin hydrated by attracting water molecules. Over time, the body loses its ability to produce hyaluronic acid. As a result of the aging process, folds and wrinkles appear as the skin volume is reduced. Juvederm restores hyaluronic acid within the skin, improving the skin’s structure to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Radiesse is most often chose by clients who are starting to see the visible signs of aging in their face. Most frequently used to treat the deep lines running from the nose to the corners of the mouth, Radiesse injections will also increase the volume of the cheeks or chin, and also add volume to the hands. Radiesse is considered a large-volume filler, making it ideal for areas in which a significant amount of volume has been lost during the aging process.

Artefill – All temporary fillers are eventually absorbed by the body. That’s why they require frequent repeat injections. ArteFill is different. The unique microspheres in ArteFill are not absorbed by the body. These microspheres provide the permanent support your skin needs for long-lasting wrinkle correction. Now, with ArteFill, you can get the lasting wrinkle correction you want in just one or two treatments. Where the results of temporary fillers end, the long-lasting benefits of ArteFill continue.

Sculptra Aesthetic is a safe, synthetic, and biocompatible material that is injected to correct the effects of fat loss, natural age-related bone loss, genetic contours and facial asymmetries.  Sculptra provides a gradual and significant increase in skin thickness, improving the appearance of folds and sunken areas.

Perlane is injectable cosmetic dermal filler that has been used to soften wrinkles and facial lines of individuals. It is also a popular filler for lip augmentation, facial depressions, and facial scarring.

Restylane has a lot to offer the aging face.  Restylane is used for lip enhancement, plumping the eyebrows, smoothing under-eye hollows, defining the cupid’s bow (the curve above your lip), enhancing the volume and contour of cheeks, chin and jawline, and softening the appearance of acne scars and other depressed marks.

What is the difference between Perlane and Restylane?

The major difference is that Perlane is a large molecule compared to Restylane, because it contains more hyaluronic acid molecules. This means that Perlane can easily fill in deep skin wrinkles, scars, and creases better than restylane. Restylane on the other hand can be used to treat the finer lines in fair skinned people.

Botox Vs. Dysport

Dysport is made from the same botulinum toxin Type A as BOTOX and is injected in the same way as BOTOX. Both work by temporarily preventing or reducing muscle action, which reduces lines and furrows.

Wrinkle reducing injections are most commonly used between the eyebrows, in the forehead and next to the eyes, where “crow’s feet” form. They affect only dynamically caused wrinkles, not those caused by aging or collagen depletion. Your provider will discuss the subtle differences to help you decide which is the best for you.

Enjoy one of the least costly facial aesthetic procedures — with no downtime. Your quick and simple treatment provides dramatic wrinkle reduction results. See your frown and worry lines, lip wrinkles and crow’s feet disappear.

The lines that appear between your brows result from muscle movement overtime. As we age the skin becomes less elastic, repeated frowning can result in moderate to severe lines between the brows.  Many patients elect to use BOTOX® as a wrinkle-preventive.  BOTOX® works very differently than dermal fillers. BOTOX® blocks the body’s chemicals that cause wrinkle-causing facial muscle contraction. By preventing the contraction, you also prevent the wrinkle that comes from it. botox

Dysport is an injectable chemical muscle relaxant which works almost identically as BOTOX. Developed in the UK in the early ’90s, Dysport has been used in Europe for many years for both medical and cosmetic purposes. Dysport was approved here in the U.S. in April 2009 for the treatment deep lines between the eyebrows. Just like BOTOX®, Dysport works very differently than dermal fillers. Dysport blocks the body’s chemicals that cause wrinkle-causing facial muscle contraction. By preventing the contraction, you also prevent the wrinkle that comes from it.

In our first uses at The Museum Spa & Laser Center, we’ve found Dysport to be a faster-acting product. Because it is still new to use in the U.S. we don’t have support that it lasts longer, but we’ve heard that some patients in the UK and some FDA clinical trials patients felt Dysport did last longer, though by weeks as opposed to months.  Dysport
