Is it safe?

Hair removal is one of the aesthetic medical industry’s most well-known and researched uses of lasers. Pain-Free, Hair-Free Soprano®XLi laser has provided permanent hair reduction for thousands of patients worldwide, safely and successfully since it was cleared by the FDA in 2005.

How many treatments will I need?

There are a number of factors that can affect the success of a series of hair removal treatments, but generally, after each treatment, you’ll see a noticeable, permanent reduction in the number of hairs that regrow in the treatment area. Typically, most areas require approximately 6 treatments to permanently reduce the number of regrowing hairs by more than 80%, six months after the last treatment. Your provider will advise you. The number of treatments required depends on multiple factors – hair thickness, the area treated and your hair’s growth cycle. Interestingly, not all hairs are actively growing at the same time and actually go through three distinct phases: growth, regression, and resting. Laser hair removal works by disabling the hair that is principally in the active growth phase at the time of treatment. Since other hairs will enter this active growth phase at different times, additional treatments may be necessary to disable all of the hair follicles in a given area.

Will my hair ever grow back?

The short answer is no. Once the hair follicle is damaged, it cannot grow new hair. However, there are invariably a few hair follicles that manage to partially escape the laser during each treatment. Some of these follicles may be only stunned and will need to be retreated.  It is also possible to have new hair growth if you go through dramatic hormonal changes such as pregnancy, menopause, the start or stop of birth control pills.  The fluctuation of hormones could trigger new growth, it is rare, but can happen.

Do I need to plan for time off, for the treatments?

No. Pain-Free, Hair-Free requires no “down time” or recovery time. You can have a treatment and return to work or school immediately.

How do I know it won’t hurt?
